No woman is born without beauty! It’s just a question of whether she has realized her potential as a STAR!
If the beautiful NICOLE KIDMAN’s body was described by KARL LAGERFELD as “BIZZARE” with a flat chest and endless legs – what then qualifies her as such a pristine beauty? Who is not in awe of the name SOPHIA LOREN? Although she had a devastating figure measuring 38-24-38 in a 5’8 frame, which was the envy of every woman in the world, she was accused of being too BIG, POWERFUL and BALLSY. Truth be told, Sophia did not get her self-worth & confidence from the criticism that was meted out to her by cautious & apprehensive men, who felt intimidated by her. It came from an influential place within her that allowed her to embrace her overbearing presence & earthy beauty.
I remember my mom teaching me self-confidence and glamour as a teenager. Mom talked about Marilyn Monroe since I often talked about her beauty. One day Marilyn was having coffee with a friend at an open coffee house. She had no makeup on and was in very simple clothes. No one recognized her, and her friend was very surprised at that. Marilyn answered that it was all about wearing the right attitude and being aware of yourself and your potential. Marilyn switched her body language and put on her attitude and sparkles in her eyes. To her friend’s astonishment, Marilyn was now cornered by a frenzied crowd going crazy to have a look at her. ‘WOW’! I have never forgotten that story and share it with my students in a class.
I tell every bride I dress every model I work with, that they need to switch on attitude themselves. On our home ground, our South Indian belle REKHA has proved all her critics wrong. These critics maintained that she was too dark, too unflattering, and too un-star like, with no beauty to claim. A little introspection and an investment in self-grooming and make-up in London just fired up the beauty that she already was. This inept knowledge of her own beauty was already realized with before the world saw a new REKHA and was awestruck by how gorgeous she was. The whole point is to have an affair with your own self, with glamour- not pretentious glamour, not fake glamour but glamour that is one hundred percent YOU.
Someday I would love to write about what makes the definition of glamour, but as of today I can guarantee that your affair with glamour is the first step you need to take to bring out the STAR in you.
