The trick to super hair is to keep it ‘good’ on a daily basis, switch it to ‘great’ on weekends and ‘super’ on dinner and party nights or pool side lunches. Of course, perfect hair only happens at the salon but you can enjoy fun hair by just mastering a few simple tricks.
To begin with, I would suggest you practice. Start now!
Repeat, repeat, and repeat the steps of combing, elastic banding your hair or drying it until you see a semblance of steps being formed! Now perfect the steps and soon you will start creating great hair looks on your own!
Your personal hair style is central to your image. This is something I have always believed. When I was a young hair dresser, I believed all the expensive hair ads which told us that if we wanted great hair we must wash it every day! Today after so many years and so many clients, I have seen that whether I worked in Hong Kong or London or in India, women with the most fabulous hair never washed their hair more than twice a week!
Ladies, never believe a hair dresser who suggests you to wash your hair every day! That is reserved only for women with super short hair or men.The healthy number of times to wash your hair is 2 or maximum 3 times a week. Wash more frequently only if you have been in the sun non-stop or you play a daily sport.
Washing your hair too often will strip it of its natural oils, thereby disturbing the pH of the hair, leaving it dry and looking confused. The meaning of pH is “Potential Hydration” This refers to how alkaline or acidic something is. Every part of our body has a certain pH to be maintained to keep organs, hair, nails, skin, etc…..healthy.
So, the big question is how do we keep hair healthy? Use more products or not? Do I wash it more often to get it that silky, or do I skip the conditioner? Are these questions freely roaming your mind? Fear not. I’ll help you out.
Don’t buy a whole battalion of products – learn how to choose the product that your hair needs. Look for a good hair dresser who knows what he or she is talking about when guiding you.You can go ga-ga over a fabulous hair product, but never become a victim of ‘product madness’.
Shampoos can never promote new hair growth as thought by lots of people. Targeted Shampoos can nudge and push sleeping or lazy roots to re-activate. For lustrous, glowing hair, for all those who gym and sweat a lot- the trick is to rinse, rinse and only rinse and keep all styling products to a minimum. If you must shampoo your hair daily because you have an oily scalp, remember never to use aggressive massage movements in a hope to remove excess oil. This will only aggravate it. If you must wash your hair more than twice a week, rinse your hair in between shampoo days rather than shampooing. This will effectively clean the hair and scalp until the next shampoo wash.
A Conditioner is designed to close the cuticle layer which is opened by your shampoo so that all the dirt can be removed efficiently from your hair. A conditioner closes the hair cuticles and also seals the hair shaft.
One of the most iconic and revolutionary hair products to enter our lives is the “Leave-in Conditioner”. Use the light ones purchased from a good company. Live Leave-in Conditioners instantly give hair luster and manageability. But do not apply too much. Buy a Leave-inconditioner which is light enough to last just a day. A heavy one will over load hair and make it limp. Avoid product build up by not using heavy Leave-inserums.
So, ladies, I hope this was helpful. Investing in good hair products is just as important as investing in a good hair dresser.
